Typed description:
"The State capitol, situated on Capitol Hill,. Is of pure Grecian architecture, 239 by 138 feet, surrounded by a mammoth reproduction of the monument of Lysicrates. The building was erected in 1863, and cost $1,500,000. On the grounds are the tomb of Protestant James K. Polk, and a replica of Mills' celebrated equestrian statue of Andrew Jackson."
