"Bedford, Moot Hall, Elstow. Elstow, which adjoins Bedford, is famous as the birth—place of John Bunyan. The old Moot Hall in which Bunyan used to dance as a young man is a picturesque but somewhat dilapidated building, and is used as a Nonconformist place of worship."

Transcription:
" Many thanks for card & 'Saturday Evening Post'.
Why go abroad? To get such a thorough change & experience as cannot be had otherwise. All over ones own country manners & customs are much the same. What has America, or even England to vie with the cathedrals of Rouen, Amiens, or Milan. Our cathedrals are not so imposing but generally are of greater interest historically & also have greater variety. With kind regards A.G.C."
