"Dear Liz(?), This is the place where papa & Mr. Oscars lost their over coat. We had to go over to the post— cast night and play for the officers. Still sleeping on the ground no hay in sight. Greg & I sleep on the dinner table Cast—night. Mart & I are doing all the cooking & dishing washing . You had better write to me. Feed the horse. Love to all. Russell"
