"Dear M — Pecos is the jumping off place and I reached it at 2 A.M. Will leave at 8—— for Artesia. Visited friends in El Paso yesterday. My hostess — who had not seen me for 6 months said I was as poor as a snake and my eyes as big as saucers — don't you know I'm fascinating. but there were experiences enroute such as fall to other people. Love, Ruth."
