"These mountains, eight to ten thousand feet high, and covered with snow the greater part of the year, can be seen from this city a distance of twenty tosixty miles."

Transcription:
"Go to Miss Stiles and get her to open my box and you mail the papers to me. I'll refund at once — am up here being inspected — got my horns(?) covered over pretty well. C.R."
