Printed description:
" Each with a beautiful lei or wreath about her neck, the flower girls of Hawaii vend their perfumed pua or roses in the markets and on the street corners of the city of Honolulu and other places on the island. The Hawaiians are great lovers of flowers and bedeck their hair with carnations and lehua. Flowers grow in profusion in Hawaii and when travelers arrive or depart they are covered with these beautiful flower leis."

"Honolulu, Hawaii, P.M. May 13, 1914, Have been busy all day sightseeing & I am tired. This is a very pretty little town and some picturesque scenery nearby. Flowers, palms, roses, etc. are in great profusion all around. Best wishes to you all. A.C.H."
