"Address 54 Fox Lane, Palmers Green, N.13 January 10th 1923. Dearest Sweetheart: Annie & I met Florrie & went to the shops up West yesterday. It was not a very nice day, but there is no use to wait for the fine days as they never seem to come the days we want them ?. Today is much better & the sun is trying to stay out, but the clouds seem determined to have their way & keep passing over it. Have you had any snow in Philadelphia yet? We have not seen any here but they have had some in the Northern parts of England. I want you to send me some money as soon as you can dear. I think it will be best to make it a "Money Order" for fifteen pounds English or else ten pounds now & ten pounds later."
