1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Give your child a strong start on the path to lifelong learning with the 1000 books before kindergarten program. This free literacy initiative encourages families to read together everyday, helping children build the language and literally skills they need before starting school. Every book shared is a step towards a lifelong love of reading and every page counts!
Our libraries welcome children any time we are open! Join the fun as we build literacy, motor skills, and community through rhymes, songs, books, and hands-on activities for children and their parents. Our children's areas are not traditional quiet zones, though we do appreciate inside voices.
Inquire about participating in the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program, 1000 Books Beyond Kindergarten (our follow up program for children who have completed or aged out of the pre-kindergarten program) and/or Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.Â
