Transcription:
"Many thanks indeed for your letter, which I will answer in the course of a few days. Still no tidings of Mr. Carmody. The Archbishop of York is in Bristol & will preach at the Cathedral & speak at Colston Hall tomorrow. I hope to be present at the latter. I am busy just now. Preparing for a children concert at the school. The schoolmaster & his wife have written a fairy play & I am responsible for the music. I have done all save the instrumental introduction. That I have in hand. Fancy I have never been to York though it is only a little over 200 miles distant. Distances with us are very different from what they are with you. Fifty miles can take one to so many places. With kind regards, A.G.C."
