Russellville, Arkansas: Celebrated Arkansas food author, Kat Robinson, will speak at the Pope County Library in Russellville on Thursday, November 21, at 5:30 pm. Robinson will discuss her book, Arkansas Food: The A to Z of Eating in The Natural State, which covers everything from fried chicken and spaghetti to duck over rice. She will also give a sneak peek at her upcoming book The Arkansas Barbecue Traveler.
In 2007, Kat Robinson set out on a quest to discover the dishes that make the Natural State great. Over the course of the 17 years since, she's found that our contributions to food are far more than cheese dip, fried pickles, and chocolate gravy. In her travels to Pope County, she has sampled items from Atkins Super Donuts, the Smokehouse Deli, Old South, Sister’s Savory Kitchen, Taco Villa, Peg Leg, Old Bank, and Sumo Japanese Restaurant, which she has promoted recently on either Facebook or Instagram.
Robinson has created a wealth of Arkansas related food content, from published books and newspaper articles to You-Tube, Facebook, and Instagram videos and posts, much of which is accessible through her website, tiedyetravels.com. Several of her books are available to check out from the Pope County Library System, including The Great Arkansas Pie Book: Recipes for the Natural State's Famous Dish From Our Favorite Restaurants, Bakeries and Home Cooks, published in 2023.
