Pope County, Arkansas: Kim Luningham-Tise, who grew up in Atkins,returns to town as the new Branch Manager at Atkins Centennial Library. Tise, who graduated from Dover High School,left her career in real estate in 2024 to serve as the Assistant Branch Managerat Dover Public Library. She quicklybuilt a rapport with staff and patrons alike as she managed the library’sprogramming and marketing. She had onlyserved in that capacity for a year before the opportunity to revitalize theAtkins library came her way.
Tise has fond memories of riding her bicycle to the Atkinslibrary for the Summer Reading Program every year, and she is a proud AtkinsRed Devil mom; both of her sons graduated from Atkins High School andparticipated in various activities. Shesays, “I want to give back to the community for being so good to me and myfamily." Tise emphasizes theimportance of libraries to small towns as places to come for fellowship andlearning and says she wants to serve as a bridge between the library and theAtkins and Pottsville schools.
