2025 One Card, Endless Possibilities: Celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month this September

Share This:

Russellville, Arkansas: This September, the Pope County Library System invites you to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month and discover how a single card can open the door to endless opportunities.  In addition to books, use your Pope County Library card to check out items from our Library of Things--from literacy and science kits to big ticket items like a grill, post hole digger, or telescope.  Your library card also connects you to digital resources such as e-books, e-zines, audio books, and in-library computer access, plus free language learning materials through the Pronunciator app.

This year’s theme, “One Card, Endless Possibilities,” is a reminder that libraries are for everyone—no matter your age, background, or goals. Whether you're diving into a new hobby, searching for your next great read, brushing up on tech skills, or helping your child succeed in school, it all starts with a library card.
Getting a library card is free, easy, and empowering. For students, it’s a key to academic success. For adults, it’s a gateway to lifelong learning. For everyone, it’s a smart way to stay connected to your community.  As an added incentive to participate, the first forty patrons to sign up for a library card this month at each of our libraries will receive a mini-swag bag.

Join us throughout September for special Library Card Sign-Up Month activities, including these events at the Pope County Library, 116 E. 3rd Street, Russellville:
Preschool Storytime with the Blue Crayon – Meet the Stubby Blue Crayon from Drew Daywalt’s Crayon book series and take a photo at our My First Library Card Photo Booth, Wednesday, September 10, at 10:00 am.
Reel and Read: Mystery with Eli Cranor – Nationally best-selling local author and Pope County Library card holder Eli Cranor will kick off our new books and movies club with a reading and discussion of his new mystery, Mississippi Blue 42 (the library owns 2 copies with more on the way) on Tuesday, September 16, at 5:30 pm.
Kids Craft Workshop—Preschool and Elementary kids are invited to make a “keychain” for their own library card.  Materials provided. Saturday, September 20, 10:00 am.
TAB: Teen Advisory Board – Teens are invited to help influence our future teen programs and book picks. Sign up for your own library card so you can access all the opportunities available through your public library. Thursday, September 18, 5:30 pm
