The PCLS Teen Department is so much more than just books. While we do have a growing collection of YA fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, and manga, we also have DVDs, magazines, comic books, and board games to check out, as well as a wealth of online resources. Plus, we provide fun, safe, and FREE activities for teens and families every month. From Game Night and Teen Writers Group to Popcorn & A Movie and Life Skills101, there are plenty of fun and informational opportunities in our Teen Department. We also have a Teen Advisory Board (TAB) that meets once a month to plan teen programs and provide feedback about what teens really want from their library.
MONTHLY TEEN PROGRAMS: Monthly activities are developed by Teen Department staff in collaboration with the Teen Advisory Board. Programs during this time of pandemic will be either virtual or take and make.
Book Bundles: Registration is currently open for our Teen Book Bundles. Registrants will receive a FREE curated book bundle from our YA staff in January, February, & March. Bundles will be available for pickup at the PCLS branch of your choice on the first Wednesday of each month. Each bundle will include library materials to return & goodies to keep, all based around a theme you select at registration. Library materials check out for the standard 3-week time period. You may renew your loan if no one has placed a hold on the item.
CLICK HERE to register and reserve your free Book Bundles. All you need is your library card.
Minecraft Server: Teens 13-18 are also invited to join our private Minecraft Server. The server is Java Edition (with mods) and you must be added to the whitelist to join. To be added to the whitelist, email your Minecraft Playername to teens@PopeLibrary.org or call the library and ask for Eli. Once you have been whitelisted, you can join the server at minecraft.lilleypad.us
Board Game Arena: You can play board games with our staff any time via BoardGameArena.com. Just add EliPCLS as a friend (or click here) and let us know what game you want to play. Games are turn-based, so you don't have to play the entire thing at once. Just pop in occasionally and take your turn!
